Emily Tompkins
Associate
Emily Tompkins is an associate with the firm and focuses her practice in the areas of professional liability defense, insurance coverage and commercial litigation.
Ms. Tompkins is originally from New York, and moved to Florida in 2004 to attend the University of Miami, from which she obtained a Bachelors of Arts degree in psychology. Afterward, she continued her education at St. Thomas University School of Law, where she earned her J.D. magna cum laude and graduated in the top 5% of her class.
During law school, Ms. Tompkins served on the Executive Board of the St. Thomas Law Review as a Notes and Comments Editor, and was a member of the Moot Court Board. Ms. Tompkins also designed learning aids, provided supplemental instruction to first year students, and oversaw and edited material of other student instructors in her capacity as an Active Learning Instructor. Additionally, Ms. Tompkins spent her 3L year as a Certified Legal Intern at the Miami-Dade Office of the Public Defender Appellate Division where, in addition to other projects, she prepared three appellate briefs and presented an oral argument in front of the Third District Court of Appeal.
Ms. Tompkins is a member of the Broward County Bar Association, The Florida Bar and Broward County Young Lawyers Section of The Florida Bar.
